Immediate Past Governor of Kano State Abdullahi Ganduje and Ninth Senate Spokesman, Ajibola Basiru, emerged on Thursday at the Transcop Hilton as the Chairman and Secretary of the ruling All Progressive Party (APC) in an extraordinary meeting attended by the National Executive Committee of the party headed by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This is barely some weeks after the former chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, and National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, resigned, in what the supporters of the former leadership termed a forceful resignation for reasons alluded that Abdullahi’s not initially backing Tinubu’s presidential aspiration.
With the new leadership, the dust surrounding who takes over from Adamu may have settled, and supporters of the former president Muhammedu Buhari, under whose auspices Adamu and Omisore came to power, may leave to fight another day.
