The National Legal Adviser to the ruling All Progressive Congress, Ahmed El-Marzuq, is the latest to resign his position at the party’s National Working Committee.
Sources at the party’s national secretariat confirmed his resignation to The Punch Newspaper.
It is believed that El-Marzuq had a lot in common with the former chairman of the party, and at one point it was reported that he recommended the expulsion of the former Vice Chairman of the party for the Northwest, Mallam Salihu Lukman, whose criticism of Adamu stirred his resignation.
Punch reported that the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the APC, Nze Chidi Duru, confirmed the exit of El-Marzuq in a text message he sent to the newspaper.
